Babydog could be considered the first dog of West Virginia, accompanying Governor Jim Justice around the state and beyond. Since the beginning of the COVID pandemic, Babydog has become almost as famous as Justice, inspiring contests, artwork and even beer across West Virginia. The bulldog was the face of West Virginia’s COVID vaccine sweepstakes and an official 2022 state Christmas ornament.
